March 17th, 2017

Downeast Lakes Land Trust is a proud member of the Land Trust Alliance, a nationwide, collaborative network of land trusts that offers support and training for conservation organizations.  The Alliance also provides the Land Trust Standards and Practices – ethical and technical guidelines for responsible land trust operations and management.

Land Trust Alliance’s quarterly publication, Saving Land, features the conservation work of organizations around the country, offering an informative magazine to its members that highlights the successes and challenges facing local conservation groups.  The latest issue’s feature article includes DLLT’s sale of carbon offsets on the California compliance market, and the role it plays in sequestering carbon and creating financial support to conserve land in the Downeast Lakes region.  To read a full copy of the magazine, click on the link provided below. DLLT is featured on page 15, along with land trusts from across the country.  Enjoy!
