Volunteers are at the heart of everything Downeast Lakes Land Trust accomplishes. Some donate dozens of hours every year, some serve in a variety of roles, others may help with one or two activities a year. All are important and greatly appreciated.

Our all-volunteer Board of Directors oversees all of the land trust’s work, and each director brings important skills, leadership, and a strong connection to our community.

Advisory Committees make recommendations to the Board of Directors, and include both Directors and other volunteers. Many of these volunteers donate a lot of their time outside of their committee work. They, with other volunteers, maintain trails and campsites and plan and lead educational programs and community events.

We’ll post announcements about volunteer opportunities on our website. Signing up for our blog feed and our email newsletter are good ways to make sure you hear about these opportunities and events. You can also contact our Staff or Board members to let us know you’re interested in helping.  Thank you!
